ASPIRE CHECK-IN POLICY

CHECK-IN POLICIES

As of December 1st, 2006, Students will no longer be able to check-in after 3:15. The only exception to this would be if they can verify that the reason why they were late is because they were with school personnel in a school activity.

Every student will be expected to arrive on time. Once they check-in, they will be permitted to leave the room to get supplies or use the restroom upon staff discretion.

If a student arrives after 3:15, and is unable to verify that they were in a school activity or with SMS school personnel they will have to go to the front office. The first time this happens they will be warned, their parent will be called, and they will have to sit in the front office until their parent picks them up. After they have already been warned, they will be required to contact their parents and determine how they will get home since they are not checked into the ASPIRE program that day.  Prior permission must be presented to the ASPIRE staff before they can participate in any extracurricular activity. This will keep ASPIRE staff informed of the students location on the school campus.

If a student has a continuous problem with attending regularly or arriving on time, they may be dropped from the after school program for the remainder of the current trimester. They will be allowed to re-enroll the following trimester.

If a student is enrolled in the ASPIRE after-school program, they are required to attend a minimum of three days a week for one hour per day. The hour that they attend must be academic. This means that if they check-in after a club meeting or sports activity, they will be required to report to the homework room for at least one hour. We will have a homework room daily until 6 PM so that students will be able to meet their attendance requirements as well as continue to work on their homework if it has not been completed.

I have read and understand the revised check-in/attendance policies and agree to abide by them.
