SALIDA MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS PROGRAM

Salida Middle School offers many competitive athletics programs for students.

Many of the sports are on a “tryouts” basis to be a member of the team.
While we would like to have all students who wish to play on our teams, it is difficult to find playing time for all.
“Cuts” are necessary to keep teams manageable and get all members playing time.
Please remember, just because a student is on a team does not guarantee any certain amount of playing time.

All students are required to have a Voluntary Sports Activities Participation Packet
filled out prior to trying out or participating in any after-school sports.

Requirements and expectations of athletes and parents are included in the sports packet.
Many questions you may have will be answered in the sports packet.

All students must have medical insurance in order to participate. (private, school, Medi-Cal)

The sports packets are handed out throughout the year by the coaches and athletic director.
A student can pick up a sports packet from the athletic director at any time.
You can also print a copy here.

Most tryouts will begin before the actual season starts.
Students are encouraged to talk with the athletic director or coaches so they don’t miss the sport.
Students can also check the calendar.

Only one sports packet is needed for any and all sports for each school year. Please check all the sports that you think your student might play.

MID VALLEY ATHLETIC LEAGUE - Salida is in this league as of 2005.

Entry fees to all school gyms will be $3/adults, $1/students, Under 6 free.
Tournament admissions are $4/adults $2/students.
